COVID-19: An opportunity in disguise?

From where Corona Virus Originated

The first case of corona was registered from Wuhan, china in December 2019 with a population of 11 million. As per China's website, South China Morning Post, quoting government documents has revealed that the first patient of coronavirus was traced in Hubei province on November 17 last year. However, China reported the first patient of coronavirus on December 8, 2019, 21 days after the first patient was traced.

According to the WHO, the first confirmed case of coronavir (Covid-19) in China was reported on 8 December. However, according to the medical journal The Lancet report, the first confirmed case of coronavirus was reported on 1 December at the Xinjiang Hospital in Wuhan.

Apart from this, the Chinese website has also raised the possibility that infection cases may have been reported much earlier, but they have been reported on a different date. Since then, corona virus has spread to over 200 countries across the globe, taking lives shutting down the economies. This is the first time since the world war ।। that the whole world is shivering with fear. The Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases have been confirmed in large number of countries due to which the World Health Organisation (WHO) on March11 has characterized COVID-19 as pandemic.

Corona in India

If we talk about India reported first confirmed case of the coronavirus infection on 30 January 2020 in the state of Kerala. And since then there has been a lot of jump in the case, According to latest figures from the Ministry of Health, there were 70756 laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection as of may 12, with 2293 reported deaths.

According to the Home Ministry, the recovery rate stands at 31.15 per cent. And this battle with Corona is even more difficult for India, the reason is that with India being a vast country, its population is also more than other countries, India has about 18% of the world's population i.e. at number two in the world, If we talk about the medical facility then our number comes to 145. Now imagine if this corona became uncontrollable in such a situation, then our situation will be more Frightening. And it will be almost impossible to control it. The government is doing a lot for this, but only trusting the government will be wrong.

It is not only the government's responsibility to fight Corona, it is also our fight. And remember, Prime Minister Modiji has also said that if we lose this battle, the country will go back 21 years and we are in a loss of $200 billion anyway because of this Corona. Social Distance has been the biggest weapon in fighting Corona, but it also has a big disadvantage, the disadvantage is that the biggest problem after Corona and that problem is recession.

And according to the IMF report, this coming recession will be bigger than the 2009 recession. Sharing a rough calculation of about loss of GDP because of lockdown, Shah said, “Our GDP is about $3 trillion, if we remain shut for a month with 100 per cent drop in activities output loss could be $250 billion. At 50 per cent activities output loss could be about $125 bn, we are likely to be shut for 47 days in this year so output loss this year could be about $190 billion assuming that we will all open up on May 17.”

And as per Indian Express "Globally, 41,781,56 people have been infected so far, with deaths exceeding 286,000. According to Johns Hopkins data, the United States continues to be the worst-affected country with 79,894 fatalities and 1,339,819 cases, followed by United Kingdom (32,140 deaths and 224,327 cases) and Italy (30,379 deaths and 219,814 cases)". Not only the life but the economy has also deteriorated due to Carona. And that is why the whole world is losing confidence in China. And this is the only time India can take advantage and become itself a manufacturing hub.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic which originated from Wuhan, several companies are looking to move out of China. As per Business Today approximately 1000 firms are in talks about India reported first confirmed case of the coronavirus infection on 30 January 2020 in the state of Kerala. Could be An Opportunity for India

And this is the only time India can take advantage and become itself a manufacturing hub. Amid the coronavirus pandemic which originated from Wuhan, several companies are looking to move out of China. As per Business Today approximately 1000 firms are in talks with authorities and planning to shift it's manufacturing to india. At least 300 of these companies are actively pursuing production plans in sectors such as mobiles, electronics, medical devices, textiles and synthetic fabric, according to top government sources. As per reports, alone Apple plans to shift 20% of production capacity from China to India, eyeing $40 billion export revenue. Now the whole world see India as alternate manufacturing hub.

Corona virus has caused a lot of damage to the world but has also benefited some of its environment and also an expectation and a positive thinking that if India makes the right decisions at the right time, it will not only emerge as a manufacturing hub of the world but also itself with time, we will be able to keep ourselves ahead of other countries in the field of technology and hope that this virus will teach us something valuable. Although Corona is a curse for the world including India, but if India tries, then this Corona can also prove to be a boon for India.
